BazookaGoal supports the ZRF Soccer School in an effort to help create playing opportunities for disadvantages young children from marginalized communities in the UK.

This year the BazookaGoals have been used across the ZRF social inclusion projects in London and at their weekly Soccer School in Tooting, South London. The Soccer School is targeting young children and families who have little or no access to sporting opportunities.

Tooting is a multi-cultural area with children from across the world meaning our sessions are representative of the area which we work in. Most children on a Saturday morning attend language and faith lessons which mean they sometimes miss out on Saturday morning clubs. The ZRF Soccer School is an afternoon session which means those same children can attend session whilst not missing out on other commitments.

Since the Soccer School started in September 2012, ZRF have had over 350 different children attend their session and on average 80 children attend weekly. The ages range from 3 years up to 11 years of age and the venue use has both indoor and outdoor facilities.

“The BazookaGoals have been an instant with the children and coaches since we first started using them in January 2013. The easy assembled goals mean that takes our coaches less than a minute to set and start using. For children, they are a great way to introduce games using goal sizes which suit them (most of the children are aged 3-4 years old).” Riz Rehman, Operations Manager at ZRF

ZRF is now looking to branch out our Soccer Schools across other parts of London and we look forward to continue our relationship with this great project.

About the Zesh Rehman Foundation:

The Zesh Rehman Foundation (ZRF), founded as a not for profit organisation in 2010, has been established to develop a social inclusion programme in the UK delivering community based initiatives that focus on using sport as a pathway and platform for community cohesion, integration and offer pathways into training and citizenship programmes in marginalised communities and neigbourhoods – working across all ethnicities and cultures. Alongside this, the broader aim is to develop the presence of the Asian communities in the UK within the professional football and sporting industry.
